ODM leader Raila Odinga has now been warned that things are not running that smoothly in one of the counties making up the larger Mt Kenya region.
Raila has been trying to make inroads into the region, and is appearing to be succeeding, after naming Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua his running mate.
But Nyeri Senator aspirant Kabando Wa Kabando has warned that some of his allies in the county are using the Azimio name to realize their own selfish goals and fight others not allied to the Jubilee Party.
He says that these people, who are leaders allied to Raila, have hijacked Azimio operations and are making it hard for Azimio to succeed there.
He claims that they are even fighting Karua herself there and himself (Kabando), and is worried that this might work against Raila and his deputy Karua.
"Azimio in Nyeri hijacked by greed, crudity. Crooks do it elections time - money, brokerage. These captives to miasma of deceit will never learn that POWER IS WITH THE PEOPLE; every vote counts. They messed Martha's last visit. They're fighting Senator Kabando and NARC-KENYA," he says in a tweet.
He has also told Raila to not dare sell the suit voting narrative there, telling the former Prime Minister to stop pushing for six piece voting in favour of Jubilee.
The former Mukurweini MP, who is vying through Karua's Narc Kenya party, has told the leader to focus at the top and let the people decide who they want for the remaining seats, even if they don't belong to Jubilee.
"Nyeri doesn't vote "suits". 2017 was 1988 when shortest lines declared longest! We're working hard and smart to convert masses to trust #BabaNaMartha safest duo. On ALL other slots 'LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE'! We capable of fighting our own local VOTE battles our #CountyOfGallantry," he adds.
He is among the leading allies of Karua in Azimio, and is among the people who were threatening to abandon Raila if he didn't make Karua his deputy.
