Nzioka Waita had taken a political back seat after he lost the Machakos County gurbenatorial race to the current Governor Wavinya Ndeti in the last general elections.

It should be noted that Nzioka Waita was the former State House Chief of Staff in the last regime of ex President Uhuru Kenyatta and he had resigned from the post to vie for the Machakos County gurbenatorial seat.
His resignation from the party comes at a time when the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance is planning to hold a mass action if President William Ruto would not have met their demands.
