BREAKING NEWS: Ruto's Running Mate Gachagua Reveals What Is Not Made For Them With Martha Karua

Rigathi Gachagua, the UDA party's democratic nominee, has disputed suggestions that the upcoming August 9 race will be a duel between him and his Azimio counterpart, Martha Karua.

Speaking on the public stage in Nakuru County on Sunday, Gachagua chastised individuals framing the election in such a way, claiming they are deceiving the public.

He stated that the contest is between his party chairman, William Ruto, and Raila Odinga of the ODM.

According to rumors, the August ballot will be between me and Karua. I'd like to point out that they are falsehoods since the race is between Ruto and Raila, "Gachagua said.

The selection of Gachagua and Karua as running mates again for two major presidential contenders has set the course for a debate over who is better prepared to govern the Mt. Kenya area politically.

Ruto was the first to name Gachagua as his running partner, followed by Raila a day later.

The two presidential candidates will compete for control of the vote-rich Mount Kenya area, which determines Kenya's president.

Raila's selection of Karua is seen as a calculated effort to win the support of the Mount Kenya area, which has voted against him in the last three elections.
