Deputy President William Ruto unveiled the Mathira Member of Parliament, Hon Rigathi Gachagua as the Kenya Kwanza Alliance deputy presidential candidate yesterday. The event took place at his official residence in Karen where his political allies had assembled.

Following the major announcement Kenyans from different political divides expressed reactions. Supporters of United States Alliance Party from Mathira and Nyeri County at a large couldn't help celebrating.

At the same time, Azimio La Umoja Movement leaders who were in Kamukunji grounds, Nairobi tarnished the Ruto-Rigathi ticket saying that the two leaders had a bad history as they were linked to corruption scandals.

Dennis Itumbi, the self-proclaimed spokesperson of the Hustler Nation and the digital strategist at the Office of DP Ruto took to his social media pages late in the night of Sunday and alleged what Hon Kanini Kega and Wambugu Ngunjiri were planning.

According to the vocal blogger, the two politicians who are allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon Raila Odinga were busy planning anti-Rigathi demonstrations in Nyeri which are expected to take place today.
