Senator Samson Cheragei who is seeking reelection on a UDA party ticket thanked senator Kithure Kindiki for channeling his energies in deputy president William Ruto's national presidential campaigns.

Senator Kithure Kindiki was one of the preferred candidates to deputize William Ruto in Kenya Kwanza Alliance. Mathira legislator Rigathi Gachagua was later nominated as Ruto's running mate after a lengthy consultations.
