MP Disagrees With H E Ruto Over The Procedure Taken To Appoint 6 Judges, Reveals What He'd Have Done

Member of Parliament representing the residents of Nyando Sub County in Kisumu County Hon Jared Okello has degreed with the procedure taken by President William Ruto to appoint the 6 Judges who were rejected by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2019.

Just after after taking oath of the office in the capacity of the the President on 13th of September, William Ruto in his inaugural speech promised to appoint and watch the swearing of 6 Judges who credentials were questioned by Uhuru Kenyatta in 2019 despite being declared competent to hold the offices by the then Chief Justice David Maraga.

And true to his words, the appointment of Weldon Korir, Aggrey Muchelule, George Odunga and Joel Ngugi to the Court of Appeal and Justices Evans Makori and Elizabeth Omange to the Environment and Lands Court was watched at State house Kenya on Wednesday morning.

The President has received plaudits in his decision to appoint the six judges with members from opposition who include renowned lawyers in Siaya governor James Orengo and Makueni counterpart Mutual Kilozo Junior supporting him in this step.

However, Jared Okello who was speaking to Citizen Tv this morning holds the view that the President did not take the right step in appointing the aforementioned Judges.

According to the law maker, His Excellency William Ruto should have gazetted the reasons that prevented the Uhuru Kenyatta from appointing the judges before gazetting them as Judges in the said offices.
