Tension as House Of MCA Aspirant Is Set On Fire By Unknown People On Tuesday Night

An aspiring Member of County Assembly for Kanyenyaini Ward in Murang’a County, together with his family are lucky to be alive after their house was set ablaze on Tuesday night night by people suspected to be his political opponents.

The huge house went up in flames as black smoke billowed from the residence of George Kinyanjui

It is reported that Kinyanjui lost property of unknown value in the night fire.

Reports indicate that the MCA aspirant and his family were not at their home in the time of the unfortunate incident.

It is yet to be established whether political rivalry could have played part in the incident.

Kinyanjui is eyeing for the ward seat on a Farmers Party Ticket.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire to know who started the fire, why and how it happened.

Leaders in the area have urged police to speedily investigate the incident. They have asked police to discourage any suspected form of politically linked violence against aspirants and political campaigns.
