Singer Samidoh's baby mama Karen Nyamu has sparked sharp reactions on social media after she branded Deputy President William Ruto as "Chuma imesimama", a common phrase in the country, which literary means a man who is extra-active when it comes to bedroom matters
For starters, 'chuma imesimama' or rather chuma ya Doshi, is a phrase that emerged during a popular steel advert, where a woman said the steel from a particular company was so strong that even holding it could prove so.
Since then, Kenyans started using the phrase to talk about bedroom matters.
On Tuesday, Karen Nyamu who is eying an elective post in Nairobi County was heard telling Nairobians that ladies across the country had told her that they are only interested in "chuma imesimama" while implying that ladies are supporting DP Ruto's presidential bid.
She hit out at ODM leader Rail Odinga as a leader who does not have the qualifications of what ladies want.
"Nimetumwa na warembo wa Kenya wote, wanasema wale wanatupangia mzee wa hotel waache madharau, wanasema sisi tuko na chuma hapa, chuma imesimama,' she said in this video, which loosely translates to
(I have been sent by ladies of this country, that they should not be disrespected by being given an old man like Raila Odinga, they want a strong man like DP Ruto)
Kenyans on social media were not impressed with her language.
