Cs Matiangi declares tomorrow a public holiday, from Moi day to Huduma day.

Interior Cabinet secretary Dr.Fred matiangi has today annouced tommorow 10th october as a national public holiday.

The formally Moi day was renamed Huduma day in December last year, the government's Cabinet approved the renaming of Moi Day to Huduma Day and it was officially gazetted and passed as law.

Reports of the State House through the spokes person Kanze Dena said that the renaming of Moi Day to Huduma Day was not a mistake, because the late 2nd president of the republic of kenya Daniel Toroitich arap moi introduced moi day as a day of service amd offering volonteer services to the people.And that the huduma day will be celebrated in the honours of the late amd longeat serving president of Kenya.

The CS Dr. Matiang’i in a press briefing said that the holiday would be observed and urged kenyans to pray for the nation and observe the volynteering and provision of service to the fellow kenyans , so as to carry the legacy of the founder of the day.

Dr Fredd Matiangi said in hia speech that “Kenyans are encouraged to participate in the prayers and promote national unity, social justice, cohesion and sustainable development in their communities for the benefit of present and future generations,” this comes about when the country is facing sudden surge of covid 19 cases.

Also, the President Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled to lead the nation in an inter-faith national prayer both muslims and christians will be in attendance of the service on Saturday, to lead the country into supplication , ahead of fighting the covid 19 pandemic.There will be no official public gathering and meetings because of social distancing rule brought about by covid 19, hence everyone is urged to celebrate at home and pray for the country.

However the prayer saturday service at the state house Nairobi is scheduled to take place from morning and will be aired by all televisions, radio and digital media platforms in the country and every kenyan can watch the proceedings live.
