DP Ruto's close ally, lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for the tactical move that he took today. This is despite the differences that they have been having over the treatment of the Deputy President.
The President had nominated four members who were to be vetted by the parliament to determine if they are successful candidates for the roles of the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners. Luckily enough, the parliament appointed them and the President made another move to approve their appointments.
Accordingto lawyer Ahmednasir, the President's quick appointment of the four commissioners is a clear indication that he is committed to a peaceful, free and fair elections. The lawyer has also added that the President has officially blown the whistle to the countdown to an orderly transition.
