Kenya Kwanza Beats Azimio Hands Down In Meru County, Opinion Poll Reveals

A recent survey by Mizani Africa has handed Kenya Kwanza Alliance an upperhand in the Meru county gubernatorial race.

The region is one of the swing-votes areas as termed by several research groups where Kenya Kwanza and Azimio-One Kenya will be battling it out to see who proves stronger.

The research was conducted between May 30th to June 4,22. Mode of interviewing was through telephonic and face to face interviews with a total of 1,225 people being interviewed across all the nine constituencies the county.

In the gubernatorial poll, Mithika Linturi who is aligned to Ruto's Kenya Kwanza alliance would become governor if elections were conducted today. The opinion poll results gives him a 32.3 percent lead ahead of his two opponents.

Kawira Mwangaza who's running on an independent ticket would emerge second with 29.4 percent of those interviewed pledging to vote her as governor.

Azimio-One Kenya and Jubilee party candidate Kiraitu Murungi falls last with a 28.1 percent popularity in the region.

10.2 percent of the interviewees were undecided on who they'll vote as their governor.
