President Uhuru's Moves to End Deputy President William Ruto's Influence in Mount Kenya.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been the kingpin of the Mount Kenya region since the year 2013 when President Mwai Kibaki retired from active politics.

With just six months to his retirement from the political arena, the head of state is set to start his Thanksgiving tour to the Mount Kenya region.

Though the date is yet to be confirmed, the visit aims to thank the people of the Mount Kenya region for the continued support they have accorded him from the time he took the leadership role.

However, the political analyst has interpreted this visit as a move to curtail the deputy president hon William Ruto's influence in the region ahead of the general election.

According to close allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the tour will also be extended not only in mount Kenya but all over the country.

Political analysts moreover believe that Thanksgiving may backfire if it is aimed at ending Ruto's presidential ambitions.
