Former Sports CS Amina Mohamed Lands This Powerful International Job In This Country

Amina Mohamed, a former cabinet secretary for sports, heritage, and culture, will serve as the delegation's point person in Dominica.

A Commonwealth Observer Group (COG) will be sent to monitor the country's general elections, which are set for December 6, 2022, at the invitation of Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The five-person team of observers was assembled by Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland, and Amina, a former Kenyan CS for sports, will serve as their leader.

"The Commonwealth has a long and honorable history of supporting people in their efforts to elect leaders.

Patricia stated, "I am confident that the observation group will present a knowledgeable, thorough, and impartial assessment of the electoral process under the chairmanship of Hon. Amina Mohammed.

The observer group will travel to Roseau on November 30, 2022, and remain there until the election is over. They will receive assistance from a team from the Commonwealth Secretariat under the direction of Ms. Chantal Sciberras, Advisor and Head of Europe in the Governance and Peace Directorate, during their deployment throughout the nation-wide stay.
