Business was brought to a stand still as Raila made his way through the streets of Nanyuki town, Laikipia county. He was welcomed by the governor of Laikipia county, Hon. Ndiritu Muriithi. On the other hand, Raila was accompanied by various leaders from ODM Party.
His tour to Laikipia comes shortly after the area had been blighted and marred with insecurity tensions. The youth in the area through a representative had a chance to present their grievances where they addressed the following;
1. Meat factory and a leather tunning industry.
2. Solving of land issues to sustain a peaceful coexistence.
3. Upgrading of roads to better standards.
4.High altitude sports training centre.
The region that is majorly known for pastoral activities has been facing fracas that are revolving around land issues and so they requested Raila to help them restore peace once he clings to power.
The former prime Minister who is normally perceived as the advocate for peace expressed his plight of helping the area to resume harmonious living with their neighbours.
Raila had a chance to address the SME entrepreneurs with whom he promised to relieve them of punitive taxes that derails their small ventures.
