The Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, was on Thursday morning, 25th November 2021, elected to the Interpol executive committee, during the 89th session of the Interpol General Assembly, in Istanbul, Turkey.
Kinoti's election to the Interpol executive committee has triggered a series of mixed reactions from Kenyans across the political divide who have expressed mixed thoughts over the move.
Itumbi has told Interpol that DCI Kinoti is convicted and it should refer to the case of Jacob “Jackie” Sello Selebi who was the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service and President of Interpol, but resigned when he was charged.
"Dear @Interpol - Of Course, you remember, Jacob “Jackie” Sello Selebi who was the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service and President of @Interpol - when he was charged he RESIGNED. This GEORGE KINOTI is CONVICTED," Itumbi's message to Interpl read.
