Bonchari, Juja And Rurii Ward Decides

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Pavel Oimeke has won the Bonchari parliamentary by-election that was held on Tuesday, 18th May, 2021.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Wednesday morning, 19th May,

Juja residents went to the ballot on Tuesday, May 18, to vote for a new MP in a race pitting Jubilee Party’s Susan Njeri Waititu against MP Moses Kuria’s Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP)’s George Koimburi and nine other candidates.

The Bonchari and Juja by elections should be a wake up call that BBI can't and won't solve electoral malpractice or violence. Also your association with this rogue regime is not only tainting your image but also costing you support you previously enjoyed across the country.

After what happened in Juja and Bonchari, all aimed at stopping ODM and UDA, PEP, the main worry now should be whether the relevant institutions can guarantee peaceful, free and fair elections in 2022.

IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati asks DPP to prosecute perpetrators of violence in Juja as vote tallying resumes amid calls for fresh count.
