The Senate of Kenya has today held a special seating to discuss the rise in prices of fuel which has become a matter of national importance. While addressing the Speaker of the house Ken Lusaka, senators observed that several Kenyans have been thrown into suffering and misery since the increase in fuel prices has led to a subsequent increase in price of essential goods and services.
Senators and Members of Parliament have called on the government to act swiftly and address the issue. Angry Makueni county senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior while addressing the Senate today has called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to break his silence over the issue and inform the way forward for the nation in as far as the fuel prices issue is concerned.
"This country is not a choir Mr president. We are not singing. We are calling on you to speak and address this issue of petroleum price high once and for all," Mutula Kilonzo Junior said.
