Amid Speculations that President Uhuru Kenyatta had made phone calls to ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday, Raila has personally come out to reveal that indeed Uhuru reached out to him.
Speaking at the Green Park Bus Terminus where he had accompanied the president to check the progress of the project today, Raila has confirmed that indeed Uhuru called him and requested him to accompany him to supervise the project.
President Uhuru Kenyatta also confirmed that indeed he reached out to Raila and asked him to accompany him(Uhuru) to see the progress of the project.
The ODM leader revealed that he was happy to be outside after spending three weeks without leaving the house. Raila was suffering from the COVID-19 virus and was in self-isolation for the time he was away. He also revealed that he is already healed from the virus after testing Negative.
The two leaders being seen together on Thursday comes amid speculations that their handshake deal and BBI was crumbling. This is after ODM leaders led by Edwin Sifuna had alleged that BBI was no longer a priority and if there was money being stashed away for the Initiative, then it should be used to buy COVID-19 vaccines. However, the two have affirmed that they are still working together for the betterment of the country, and that the BBI and handshake is solid.
