President Uhuru Kenyatta Silently Travelled Abroad To Chair Top Meeting

President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in New York for a two-day working visit of the US during which he is scheduled to chair a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) high-level open debate on diversity, state building and peace.

Having assumed her position as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council on 1st of January this year for a two-year period, Kenya currently holds the monthly rotational presidency of the Council for October 2021.

As indicated by Kenya's Permanent Representative to the UN Amb Martin Kimani, Kenya's abrogating plan at the UN Security Council is to propose suggestions and answers for worldwide harmony and security in regions like the Horn of Africa and the upset Sahel locale.

"The Security Council is a body that has the order to settle significant difficulties, yet for some, reasons has been not able to do as such. We have thoughts on the best way to do that, we enjoy insight in building harmony in our district and we carry those thoughts and points of view to the Council. Kenya is recommending new developments on the best way to move toward specific struggle circumstances," Amb Kimani said, adding that the nation is empowering the UN Security Council to work intimately with Africa.
