Ruto allies in Mt Kenya who are likely to lose in August general election- opinion

As the August general election approaches, policians are now hitting the ground with campaigns. The political bigwigs that were formed are Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance and Kenya kwanza Alliance. Azimio is led by Raila Odinga while Kenya kwanza Alliance is led by William Ruto.

One between the two Alliances are anticipated to form the next government due to their strong waves across the country. The region that has become the battleground between the coalitions is Mt Kenya region. Apart from the presidential seat, the Alliances are also battling for various seats in mountain.

Even though the region is currently dominated by Ruto's UDA which is in Kenya Kwanza Alliance, there are Ruto's allies in the region that are likely to lose in August.

One of the Ruto's allies in Mt Kenya who are likely to lose in August is Murang'a Senator Hon. Irungu Kang'ata.

Kang'ata is contesting for Murang'a county governor seat using UDA. According to the latest opinion poll that was released by Mizani Africa at the end of June, Irungu Kang'ata had a popularity of 25.5 coming third after Jamleck Kamau (Jubilee) and Wairagu Wa Maai who had 30.8 and 26.2 respectively.

Murang'a county also allegedly has so many Azimio leaders including Peter Kenneth and Sabina Chege. It's also alleged that most Mt. Kenya Foundation members like SK. Macharia are coming from Murang'a county. These have given Azimio coalition and candidates more strength in the county. As a result, Kang'ata will find it hard to overtake Jamleck Kamau in the race if the opinion poll is anything to go by.

Other Ruto's allies who are likely to lose include some of the Kiambu gubernatorial contestants namely William Kabogo, Kimani Wamatangi and Moses Kuria. These policians are all Ruto's allies but are contesting for the same seat. It's obvious at least two of them must lose in the August poll.
