Pauline Njoroge's Post on DP Ruto, His Allies' Wealth Raises Eyebrows

The political actions of Deputy President William Ruto, who hand out millions of dollars at every rally he attends, continue to raise eyebrows in the political arena.

Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta's allies have claimed that DP Ruto has been stealing from public coffers and is now distributing the money at his rallies across the country.

And now, according to President Uhuru and Raila's supporter Pauline Njoroge, DP Ruto's fortune has increased by more than tenfold in the last nine years.

The former nominated senator also questioned why DP Ruto's and his friends' wealth is increasing rather than decreasing, despite the fact that they have been vigorously campaigning around the country.

"I have a question.Ruto’s wealth has grown more than 10 fold in the last 9 years. If the economy is doing as badly as many likes to paint it, how come their leader’s wealth and that of people in his inner circle has grown exponentially, instead of decreasing?" Njoroge asked.

Her remarks attracted comments, here are some of them.

Mumbi: It is because of the Seven members of the Kenyatta family who were revealed through the Pandora Papers as being variously connected to 11 offshore companies and foundations.. That's why KRA Loses Ksh.7 Billion Annually To Hidden Offshore Accounts.

Zion: Increasing wealth does not mean a good economy. An analogy that might help: during the pandemic, many in manufacturing lost their jobs but delivery/courier companies made a lot of money. So maybe rephrase your question.

Mugambi: If he is able to build his wealth to more than 10 folds it means he is the leader with practical Kenya economic transformative agenda. Bottom up is unstoppable.
