Mumias East member of parliament Peter Salasya has come out to reveal who could be winning the Bungoma senatorial elections that were carried out on Thursday. Taking to his twitter page on Friday morning Salasya congratulated Wafula Wamunyinyi meaning he was leading in the election.
"congratulations to @wamunyinyi," Salasya said.
Wamunyinyi was among the eleven candidates that were contesting for the senatorial seat which was left vacant by Hon Moses Wetangula who was elected as the speaker of the National Assembly. Wamunyinyi was fronted by the DAP-K party. The other contestants were as listed below;
1. Elias Barasa
2. Mwambu Mabonga (UDA)
3. Enoch Makokha
4. Julius Masinde
5. Wekesa Munoko
6. Simiyu Busolo
7. Wafula Wakoli ( Ford Kenya)
8. Wafula Wamunyinyi (DAP-K)
9. Wafula Wanjala
10. Barasa Wanyonyi
11. Robert Sifuna (The Roots party)
