President Uhuru Kenyatta is the chairman of the Azimio coalition that comprises among other parties Jubilee, Azimio Narc-K and Wiper. Raila Odinga is the official presidential flag bearer of the outfit.
Recently Rumors have it that the coalition is on the verge of breaking with Kenyans experiencing divisions within Azimio.
After Raila was severely beaten by President Ruto in the General elections, several of his allies’ jumped ships with majority joining Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza. Majority stated that since Ruto is the head of state, they have to work together for the better of their voters.
In addition, leaders from Jubilee recently dumped the outfit led by Kanini Kega who decried of betrayal during the EALA voting.
Following the developments, majority of Kenyans have been speculating an end to the coalition but Vihiga senator Godfrey Osotsi has cleared the rumors.
Osotsi revealed that the coalition is intact and President Ruto and Raila are in fact tighter than before.
“Ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta, my party leader Raila Odinga, Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi have not complained yet. We are still united as the Azimio team and we will only get stronger,” Osotsi said.
