The deputy governor for Nakuru county Dr.Erick Korir represented governor Lee Kinyanjui in marking the year's World Tourism Day at Lake Solai in Rongai Sub County.He said the choice not the year's event was line with the theme "Tourism for inclusive growth" and intentionally meant to highlight the tourism activities in and around Lake Solai.
He said the Lake offers a variety of activities including boat riding,sport fishing and bird watching.Korir said the visitors are also able to enjoy sumptuous meal of nyama choma accompanied with ugali and traditional vegetables at the highland in Lake Solai.He said the Lake Solai has the potential to generate great wealth for the people of Solai and significantly improve the economy of the people.
Korir urged those in the tourism and hospitality sector to align their marketing strategies towards the city status that will soon attain.He said there are great opportunities in the transport sector that are yet to be explored.He said with the coming up of Lanet International Airport Nakuru County is expected to have an influx of tourist from all parts of the world.
