Kalonzo said that they were very hopeful that the case was likely to rule in their favour. Kalonzo insisted that the former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko would be on the ballot as he had not exhausted all his appeal avenues.

Despite Mike Sonko’s major legal battles, Mr Musyoka said Wiper Party had opted to bank on Mr Sonko in the Mombasa County race and that Wiper had no agreement on zoning in the major towns.

Mombasa County has experienced a low political activity despite seven candidates being cleared for the Mombasa top seat with just a few weeks to the August elections.

This slow activities have lagely been blamed by IEBC'S move to block Mr Sonko from contesting and businessman Suleiman Shahbal stepping down from the race in favour of Mr Sheriff Nassir.
