Name of Raila Odinga's Billionaire Friend Who Has Taken a Low Profile Since BBI's Defeat [Opinion]

Since the defeat of the Building Bridges Initiative report at the Kenyan Judiciary levels, renown billionaire Samuel Kamau Macharia popularly known as SK Macharia has taken a low profile.

He is rarely seen accompanying Raila Odinga like he used to do during the Building Bridges Initiative report sensitisation across the country where he used to invite the former Prime Minister to the central Kenya region.

The Royal Media Group boss has taken a low profile to a point that he has not been seen in the current Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance politics that Raila Odinga adopted since his BBI was defeated at the judiciary levels.

It is not yet clear why SK Macharia has gone silent on the trending politics of his close ally despite their friendship having gone to a top level to a point that he has in the past disclosed their relationship began several years ago during the Odinga's father era.

During an interview in December 2004, the media mogul divulged that he supported Raila's father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and even campaigned for him while he faced retired President Daniel Moi during the 1992 Elections.

"At no time had I interest in the media before the 1992 General Elections. I just happened to be a big political adviser and financier of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Presidential campaign,” Macharia disclosed while revealing how his interest in media came to be.

He has not been seen Eben in the recent burial and death commemoration of former president Mwai Kibaki who he once alleged that was not the sinner of the much contested 2007 general elections.
