Peter Salasya who is the current Mumias East Member of Parliament, has a unique hairstyle that has caught the attention of many on social media.

Peter says that the hairstyle has been his signature since the campaign era.According to Peter, he can't do away with the hairstyle as a sign to his constituents that he has not changed since they voted him as the Mumias East Member of Parliament.
"It's my identity. I chose to be like that because it has been my signature hairdo ever since campaigns. Basically, to show my constituents I haven't changed and am still the same person they voted in," Salasya said.
The Mumias East Mp Salasya said he visits a salon every two weeks for treatment. One session entails being washed, dried and retouched.
He added that one session costs him one thousand and five hundred shillings which means he spends three thousand shillings per month since he goes to the salon twice a month.
"I got to the salon after every two weeks for it to be washed, dried and retouched, and I pay KSh 1,500 per session. Per month I visit the salon twice, meaning I spend KSh 3,000 per month," Salasya said.
According to reliable sources,Salasya said that his hair was dirty and unkept before he was elected since he could not get money for treatment. Peter says that he will keep his hair near now that he can afford the money for regular treatment.
"Kitambo (Before I was elected) my hair used to be dirty because I couldn't afford the KSh 1,500. I would only wash it with ordinary water and soap, but for now that I'm an MP, I need to keep it neat because I can afford cash to make it." Salasya added.
