During their campaigns, Kenya Kwanza team led by president William Ruto and deputy president Hon Rigathi Gachagua promised to delist all loan defaulters if they get elected.
Immediately after their election, they ordered a quick delisting of all defaulters without any condition, an order that was warmly received by those who had been blacklisted.
But report emerging indicates that defaulters are likely to remain blacklisted if they will not meet a tough Condition that has been issued by the President of Central Bank, Mr Patrick Njoroge.
According to the report from TV 47, Njoroge has announced that only those who will pay their Mobile loan before May 2023 will be cleared.
Those who will fail to pay their defaulted loan are likely to remain blacklisted as per the report from CBK president. This means that they will not be able to access any loan due to their poor rating.
