Heart Felt Message From Alikiba To Rwandans As They Mark 27 Years Since The Ginocide

The Rwandan genocide occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan civil war. During this period of around 100 days, members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu, were slaughtered by armed militias.

The most widely accepted scholarly estimates are around 500,000 to 600,000 Tutsi deaths.

Today marks 27 years since the genocide took place and Alikiba a Tanzanian musician has taken to his Instagram account remember the victims with a poem.

"Days passed and turned into years.

27 years now but feel like it was yesterday.

We always think of you everyday. Every moment.

We always remember you with silent tears.

But when these cursed dates come

We remember the bloody 100 days of the way of cross.

But we know God has you in Heaven.

Until we meet again."
