It seems the battle to the top seat in 2022 is slowly heating up with the entry of Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi into the race. Mukhisa who worked at the United Nations resigned a few weeks ago and jet back to the country to pursue his presidential bid.

Having launched his presidential bid a few days ago, not everybody is happy with his latest move. Among them is Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua who is also eyeing the top seat on a Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket.

Speaking in Machakos Mutua castigated the move by Mukhisa Kituyi claiming that it was ill informed. He wondered how he could just jet in the country and declare that he wants to run for the top seat and yet he does not know the challenges facing Kenyans. He urged him to produce hs track recors so that Kenyans can judge from that point.

So far there are close to 5 candidates who have shown interest in the top seat. They include the current Deputy President William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Hassan Joho and Mukhisa Kituyi. Below is a link to the video of Dr. Mutua giving his speech:
