Mr Dalmas Otieno, Jubilee party gubernatorial aspirant in Migori county was attacked by a group of about 10 youths. The youths attacked the candidate and started throwing stones on him. Reports reaching our desks is that the candidate was safe however his vehicle was damaged by the rain of stones that were directed at him by the angry youths.
The cause of attack is not yet clear. Police have intervened on the matter. One of the clerks at the polling station was arrested. The attack occured in Anindo Primary School in Awendo Sub county in Migori county. This is one of the counties in Nyanza region.
The youths threw stones beating up the bodyguards of Mr Okello. The bodyguards suffered an head injury and were taken to the hospital. Confirming the incident, Migori county commander Mark Wanjala said that Mr Otieno was inspecting the voting exercise when he was attacked with the youths.
