Residents in Nguu Masumba ward will go back to their polling stations to elect their preferred MCA. This is after the death of the area MCA Harris Ngui early this year in a fatal road accident along Nairobi Mombasa highway. Various candidates have been campaigning in the ward.
Today high court has found merit in a petition filed by the independent candidate in Nguu Masumba ward by election. The high court has ordered IEBC to approve the candidate in the next twenty four hours. The independent candidate had earlier been barred by IEBC for failing to meet the set credentials.
The independent candidate Mr. Timothy Maneno will be competing with other two candidates in the by election. Mr. Timothy Maneno is said to enjoy massive support from Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana and Machakos governor Alfred Mutua. Govenor Alfred Mutua chief of staff Mr. Mwengi Mutuse revealed this information on his official Facebook page.
The other two candidates have been in the ground intensively campaigning. They include Wiper candidate Mr. Eshio Mwaiwa and UDA candidate Masika Mweu. Wiper leaders have camped in the ward campaigning for their candidate led by Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior.
The by election will be held on 14th October this year. Machakos chief of staff Mr. Mwengi Mutuse wished the independent candidate Mr. Timothy Maneno all the best in his campaigns.
