ODM Aspirant, The Famous "Gheto President" Gaucho Arrested in Nairobi

The famous "Bunge la Wananchi - a group meeting that discuss politics" leader Calvince Okoth, commonly known to many as Gheto President or Gaucho was arrested in Nairobi on Friday morning.

According to reports reaching our news desk, Calvince who recently won the Bunge la Wananchi in September has been accused of robbery with violence.

A video seen by this writer show Gaucho who in handcuffs, is being guarded by uniformed police officers to a room believed to be a courtroom.<>

In his recent interview with Jalango online TV, Gaucho had explained that he was wanted by the police over the robbery with violence allegations.

Gaucho who expressed interest in vying for MCA on an ODM ticket come 2022, told Jalango that on the 27th of November when the 'Bunge la Wananchi' elections happened, he was at a Nairobi Hotel awaiting for the results to be announced when fight broke out and several people were beaten.

He said that in the process of the fights, people were robbed of their personal properties including smartphones, and he was accused of sending the goons who started the fights.

"Kesho natakikana kortini. Kwa hiyo election ya 27th, watu walipigwa wakanyanganywa vitu, lakini mimi nilikuwa kwa hoteli fulani nikingoja results. Ikasemekana ni mimi nilituma goons kupiga opponents na kunyanganywa mali yao (I am needed in court tomorrow. On that election on 27th, people were beaten and robbed their properties, but in was in a hotel awaiting the results. It was then said that I am the one who sent the goons who robbed the opponents)," he said.
