They say that politics is like the game of chess. Politicians will always have a calculated move before they make any decision in their political careers. The Deputy President Dr William Ruto has been considered as a master tactician. When you are in his wing, you will always have something to talk about. His political strategies are well calculated and will rarely fail.
Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru has been on the President Kenyatta's side after the disintegration of Jubilee into two factions because of the handshake. The governor has been against Dr Ruto's politics and his ideologies. However, the second in command has made inroads in the Mount Kenya region and his name has been imprinted in the hearts of the electorates from Mount Kenya.
Today the governor hinted at going for re-election using UDA party ticket. She has always maintained that she will listen to her people on what party to use. While she was seeing the progress of Thiba South Youth Group, she met with supporters who were elated to see her. She asked them the party they wanted her to use and the charged crowd told her to use UDA party.
In 2018, Deputy President William Ruto attended her swearing in ceremony in Kirinyaga while President Kenyatta attended the late Joice Laboso's swearing in ceremony. The governor has had a long history with Dr Ruto and even when she was accused in the corruption in NYS, Ruto defended her and one cannot expect Waiguru to go to Raila's side and leave his long time friend.
What do you think about Waiguru's declaration that she will consider joining UDA?
