Possible Raila Presidency Looming As Top Ally Predicts What Will Happen in 2022

The ODM party is assured of occupying the presidency and formation of the government after the 2022 polls, Migori Senator Ochillo Ayacko has predicted.

The opposition party appears likely to hand the presidential ticket to its leader Raila Odinga, who, however, still remains silent on whether or not he will be in the race, after four failed bids.

Ayacko, however, believes that the party will be in charge after the polls and will as well have majorities in both the county and national assemblies.

"We are sure to be the governing party and majority in both national and Migori assembly in next polls," he is quoted by The Star as having told delegates from Suna East and West constituencies.

He added that the county will soon be hosting Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta, possibly in August this year, in the spirit of their 2018 handshake.

“We will have Raila come to Migori in August for a major rally which will push through the development agenda courtesy of his handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta,” he us quoted.

His remarks come only days after the president toured Siaya and Kisumu counties, hinting at endorsing Raila as his preferred candidate in 2022.

His remark about ODM having the majority in the National Assembly, however, appears to some extent hard to achieve, considering that the party's national influence appears to be on the decline.
