What lawyers now want President Ruto to do with BBI.

Lawyers have cautioned President William Ruto not to repeat mistakes committed by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta. The lawyers have urged Ruto to halt constitutional amendments because the majority of his plans require a referendum.

President Ruto's letter to parliament has been Challenged in court for he is seeking to utilize parliament to amend what may have been done through a referendum. Kenya's law society has publicly urged the president to follow the law and let the constitution govern.

According to the lawyers, the president is attempting to mutilate the constitution in his recent attempts to establish the office of the official opposition. The president of the Kenya Law Society, Eric Theuri, has encouraged the president to study the Supreme Court judgement on the building bridges initiative.

President Ruto passionately opposed the building bridges initiative but is actively introducing the same through the backdoor. The lawyers have promised to investigate this situation.
