A Blow For ODM Governor After Court Orders Recount Of Votes In 16 Polling Stations

Photo of Joseph Ole Lenku, the governor of Kajiado County, spoke at a political meeting in the past.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Governor Joseph Ole Lenku may be in trouble after a court ordered a recount of votes in 16 polling stations in Kajiado in a case challenging his election for a third term in last year's general elections.

Citizen TV said that Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku's reelection could be in danger because the court has ordered a recount of votes in 16 polling places.

This is because his main opponent, Katoo Ole Metito of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, is challenging his victory in the general elections last year.

Katoo is challenging Governor Lenku's victory because he lost by fewer than 30,000 votes. He wants Lenku's reelection to be overturned, saying that he didn't lose the election fairly and that it was instead fixed.
