Azimio principal Martha Karua was one of the invited guests to the Golden Jubilee celebrations in honour of Bishop Sulumeti at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega held today.
Apart from congratulating the Bishop for his continued unrelenting service to the people of Kakamega and Kenya at large, Karua also touched on matters politics in her shirt speech.
In her speech, Karua asked the newly installed Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa to work and corperate with president William Ruto's national government despite party differences. "We must have unity in diversity, not only unity in a single party," said Karua.
"You should corperate because the national government needs you and you also need the national government to reach the people of Kakamega. Corperate from a position of strength to benefit Citizens," Karua emphasized.
Calls for smooth corperation between the national government and county governments have been intensified as the country continues to recover from a period of hot campaigns.
