Senator Cherargei Urges Govt to Deny Raila Permit to Hold Demos After Cherera Resigned, Alleges This

The ppan by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance chief Raila Odinga to hold demos against the plot to oust 4 Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Commisioners is continuing to trigger mixed reactions.

The planned demos took a new twist on Monday morning, 5th December 2022, after IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera and Nyangaya resigned.

Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei has spoken moments after Cherera resigned calling on the government to deny Raila Police permit to hold the demos.

Cherargei has urged the government to deny Raila police permit since Kenyans need to work and the resignation of the two embattled IEBC Commissioners has thrown the planned demos into limbo, confusion & political oblivion.

"The resignation of IEBC commissioners vice cherera & Ngangaya is long overdue after putting the country in precipice of anarchy & has put Tinga's Maandamo into limbo, confusion & political oblivion. The govt should deny him police permit coz Kenyans need 2 work!" Cherargei said.

Earlier, President William Ruto had confirmed that the government was ready to deploy enough police to the Azimio demos to protect property of Kenyans.
