Big Blow to Ruto as Maangi Hints at Dumping UDA For Raila's ODM

The deputy president William Ruto has been dealt a major blow in Kisii as the deputy governor Joash Maangi has hinted at dumping UDA for ODM ahead of the 2022 general election. Maangi is clear he will contest for the seat of governor in Kisii and was hopeful of winning ODM ticket.

Joash Maangi made it clear his interests are more taken care of in ODM party as opposed to UDA. The deputy governor is hopeful he will be able to capture power come 2022 through ODM party for believes he has been able to deliver as deputy governor together with Governor Ongwae.

Maangi is clear of his agenda to move the county of Kisii forward a reason he is keen of joining ODM party that he believes will change the political landscape in Kisii. Maangi is hopeful he will be able to win the support of ODM in his bid to be the next governor.

The move by Maangi is obviously a big blow to DP Ruto given the fact that he has been the main point man in Kisii. It will be difficult for Ruto to win the support of Kisii community without the support of Maangi as that might heavily favour ODM party.
