BREAKING: President Uhuru officially Confers City Charter on Nakuru, Makes it Fourth City in Kenya

President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially confered city charter on Nakuru, making it the fourth city in Kenya after Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.

"I do hereby confer city status to the Nakuru Municipality & from henceforth may it be known by everyone as the City of Nakuru," President Uhuru Kenyatta said.

President Uhuru arrived in Nakuru County for a day-long working visit before presiding over the national commemoration to mark this year's World Aids Day at Nakuru Athletics Club and later the Conferment of Charter to the new Nakuru City at Nyayo Gardens.

Governor H.E Lee Kinyanjui at the revamped Nyayo Gardens on Tuesday evening did a media briefing on the state of preparedness in readiness for the granting of a Charter by H.E President Uhuru oficially elevating Nakuru Municipality to a City.

The County Assembly had suspended it's afternoon sittings in order to allow members attend this auspicious event and Nakuru residents turned up in large numbers to welcome H.E the president to Kenya's 4th City.
