
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has made the much awaited announcement concerning the 2022 general elections.
IEBC has announced the start and also the last day of official campaigning periods towards the 9th August general elections.
Speaking on Monday, May 23, 2022 noon, the IEBC leaders announced that the official campaign period will start on May 29th 2022. The campaigns will end on August 6th just three days to the general elections.

Despite the ongoing campaigns, Kenyans will now experience thorough campaigns in all areas of the country as it has now been officially declared a campaign season.
Deputy President William Ruto and his opponent Raila Odinga will now intensify their campaigns ahead of the deadline.

IEBC further reminded all presidential aspirants to submit 48000 signatures from Kenyans in at least 24 counties by end of business today.
The process is meant to weed out aspirants who will not receive the backing of at least 48000 kenyans from various areas.
