Following President Uhuru Kenyatta's oblique attack on his running mate, William Ruto, ahead of the 2017 general elections, Kenyans have reacted in a variety of ways.
The head of state ripped Deputy President William Ruto apart during his speech at the Ushirika celebrations for his 2022 promises. Uhuru mentioned that some people are constantly yapping about what they plan to do when they take control of the country. Why didn't they do that when they were in office, he questioned.
After praising Peter Munya, the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, for doing an exceptional work at the Ministry for only three years, Kenyatta continued to indirectly criticize Ruto. Ruto, he claimed, had served in the same ministry for eight years while the others accomplished nothing.
" Hao walikua huko miaka nane walifanya nini? Wakituambia ati watu wajui vile wanasema, hawa ndio hawaelewi, wanafkiria ati ukienda huko ni ho, ho, ho, ukiona mtu ako na shida ati mimi ntatatua, ...muache kuniletea bwana.
