"Even Kenya Kwanza Did it" Ex-CS Eugene Wamalwa Says What Azimio Will be Doing Going Forward

Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has stated that the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp will embark on having consultative forums across the country, just like President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance camp did by having 'Economic Forums' across the country before the August 9th elections.

Speaking during the Azimio's rally at Kamukunji Grounds on Wednesday, a function that was led by Raila Odinga, Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua and the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Wamalwa said that the consultative forums will be used to keep Ruto's government on check.

"Public participation is a constitutional right and part of our national rights. We will continue with these consulattive forums because even the Kenya Kwanza members did their consultations. If Ruto's government does not listen to us after the forums, and Baba says forward march, we will be holding demonstrations."

He went on to criticize President Ruto on what he claimed as failure to fulfill his campaign promises including reducing the cost of living, prices of fuel, food and essential commodities among others.

He opposed any move to import maize whether GMOs or not, saying that farmers from Western and North Rift are harvesting, and the government should step up and buy their produce.

The former minister insisted that the Azimio camp was still united, and that will walk and work together to keep Ruto's government in check.
