The Senate committee that was formed to investigate the impeachment of Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza completed the hearings on Wednesday night.
The committee headed by Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale is expected to present its findings today before the House. And from the senators will decide on the way forward regarding the impeachment of Kawira Mwangaza by his Members of the County Assembly.
Here are the six key issues in this case that the senators will use to either dismiss her or give her another chance to continue as the governor of Meru.
1. Appointment of her husband, Mr. Murega Baichu as a hustler ambassador in Meru County.
2. Roadside appointments of staff in Nkubu, Kianjani, and Timau to work in the Okolea firefighters program.
3. Roadside awards of tenders.
4. Appointment of her husband as the Meru Youth patron.
5. Violation of the PFM Act when she ordered Meru Referral Hospital to spend money at source.
6. Whether or not Mr. Baichu is earning from public coffers.
