Kenyans in social media platforms have showered opposition leader Raila Odinga for his kind act he did in 2012 that had not been covered the media but has been brought into limelight.
According to the report, Nelly Cheboi the CNN 2022 Heroes award winner revealed that it was Raila Odinga who came through to help her fulfill her dream by giving her Kshs 300, 000 to facilitate her travel to the US. Cheboi claimed that if it was not for the intervention of Raila she would have been stuck in Kenya and her scholarship would have probably been awarded to a different person.
This was in 2012 when Cheboi score an A and was offered a scholarship to further her studies in America, she was revealing this during an interview after winning the lucrative award.
This has left many kenyans praising Raila Odinga claiming that chances are that Raila Odinga has been doing a lot of charity work without letting the media know.
Others have praised the kindness of Raila Odinga of helping the needy without letting the public know unlike other leaders who walks with cameras to let the public know what they have done to the poor.
Below are some of the reactions from kenyans.
Dalmas Tiampati: This is very good. Thank you Baba Raila Odinga for supporting many young Kenyans.
Suzie Akinyo: Raila has never even mentioned this. People call Raila mean because he helps in silence unlike the other one who gives fake cheques and Kenyans are really happy praising him.
Alex Arika: Start with moses Kuria whom the Right honourable Raila helped ....he has never shared in social media of many many he helped....May God spare a place in heaven for him.
Julius Murithi: Long live Baba! He's a national hero that sees beyond tribalism.
