Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Members of Parliament demanded that president William Ruto makes public full recommendations of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) task force report. Speaking at an event in Siaya County on Saturday, December 3rd, the leader of minority in the National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi lamented over the uncertainty of the curriculum.
He acknowledged that Ruto had given directives on the grade six transition to junior secondary school. However, the directives on the transition was reportedly insufficient to address issues raised on CBC.
In particular, Wandayi wondered whether there were still plans to scrap the curriculum in the future. In summary, he wants the president with his team to give exactly what they want and should stop meandering. Moreover, Wandayi urged Ruto to publicise the plans he put in place to facilitate junior secondary now that they will be domiciled in primary school.
He further called upon Kenyan parents to get interested in their children education since it is not only responsibility of teachers but also parents. In the meantime thank you for reading my article.
