A grandson to the country's second and longest-serving President Daniel Moi has been kicked out of his residential apartment over rent arrears and is now languishing in the streets.
On Monday 7 February, Collins Kibet told the High Court in Milimani that he had been evicted from his residential apartment last week and therefore could not cater for his family's needs.
The court learned that over a period of six months, Kibet had not paid his rent which had led to the amount to accrue to Ksh 240,000 which led to his eviction by the owner of the property.
Moi's grandson, however, complained that he had been excluded from the management of a multi-billion estate that was left by his father Jonathan Kipkemboi Moi who passed on in 2019 and this had also contributed to his troubles.
The late Jonathan did not leave behind a will even though he had wealth worth billions of money and this has thrown his dependants into a protracted legal battle with Collins pointing an accusing finger at his stepmother and stepbrother for failing to take care of him.
