Global Firepower, which checks a countries’ military strengths, ranks Kenya at position 82 as Uganda is ranked position 92 from the beginning of the year.
According to the Agency, Uganda has forty seven Thousands active soldiers plus ten thousands reservists while Kenya boast of only twenty four thousands with no reservists.
However according to the survey, Kenya has powerful air power compared to Uganda though Kampala recently purchased a bout three Mil Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopters from Russia.
According to the Global Firepower, Uganda has 1,057 armoured vehicles against 959 owned by Kenya before the 118 newly purchased armoured vehicles from Turkey are added.
The Report further reveals that Kenya has seventeen fighters or interceptors while Uganda has only ten. Kenya has 87 helicopters and only 2 attack helicopters for a total air fleet of 151 while Uganda has 25 helicopters and 5 attack helicopters for a total air fleet of 49.
