Former Mukurueni constituency member of parliament Hon. Kabando Wa Kabando has changed tune on Raila's Presidential bid. The vocal politician who openly critisized Raila after the Handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally welcomed the move by Mount Kenya governors to support the former prime minister.
Kabando claimed that the region feared Raila because he is a reformist, he challenged the governors to admit that they have been wrong. While welcoming the move, the vocal politician urged the leaders to tell Raila the things he should prioritize should he clinch the presidency.
"That Mt. Kenya Governors with deep lineages are finally embracing Raila is instructive and a breath of fresh air. Let's go ahead and admit we feared a reformist Agwambo. Let's urge Tinga to also focus TJRC, Kroll and Ndung'u reports as critical campaign menu." His statement on his Twitter handle read in part.
"Mount Kirinyaga towers freshness. Aberdares is ranging on. Menengai is agape. Never again should descendants of Mau Mau agree to be set against anyone because of self-aggrandisement and ethnic bigotry. Crucially, let the people decide" he stated.
Kabando however challenged both Raila and Ruto who are currently battling over the region's support to tell them what they have for them and how they will handle corruption before they can be voted for.
"Currently, majority Mt. Kenya grassroots are with Ruto while most local elites and tycoons are for Raila. More importantly, the conversations on Economy is most beautiful! I challenge Ruto and Raila to tell us how they'll deal with our biggest problem, corruption." He concluded.
